A wormhole to the past
The original discos of 1970s NYC were places of joy and inclusion, where everyone felt like an insider. Imagine travelling to the last place on Earth you’d expect to find a legendary party, and stepping through a portal back to that original era of disco. Everyone you meet there has something in common – the journey you’ve taken together.

Detour Discotheque takes place annually, always in a new and uniquely interesting location. The journey to the destination is an essential part of the experience. The event is small-scale (no more than 500 people) and we work with local communities to make it as much about the people and the place as the party.

Detour Discotheque was founded by Jonny Ensall, a journalist, magazine editor and DJ living in London. The events are put together by a small, passionate team of creatives.
