Sustainability

Travel is a privilege, and Detour Discotheque encourages you to do it sustainably and with respect for the landscape. Here are some tips.

1. Enjoy your stay

When you do travel anywhere, make it count. Detour Discotheque appears in destinations that are worth exploring at your leisure. Turn your trip into a holiday, travel slowly and save yourself a flight or car journey somewhere else in the future.

2. Travel by train, ferry, bike and on foot

Where possible, try and make your journey to the discotheque by train – you get to see more that way. If you can avoid bringing or hiring a car, do. Bike hire is a great way to get around, or simply amble around and soak it all in.

3. Travel electric

If you do choose to hire a car, go electric. It’s often cheaper and charge points are widely available.

4. Buy local

Sample some produce, meet the suppliers, shake their hands, get stuck into the food and drink of the region. Visit local shops rather than big supermarkets and consider your food miles, wherever you are.

5. Reuse and recycle

Ditch the plastic water bottles and bring something refillable. Pay attention to local recycling rules.

6. Leave no trace

Detour Discotheque is committed to treating destinations and communities with respect. That means being sensitive to the impact we’re creating as tourists. It’s important to leave a place with only good memories, and no bad hangovers.
